Software Engineer – XCore

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance, low-latency APIs and distributed microservices that manage identity, authorization, user profiles, settings, and product configurations.

• Design and uphold data pipelines that efficiently transfer large volumes of data with reliability and consistency, including audit-log systems and business intelligence data exports.

• Enhance and refine existing features based on user feedback and changing product needs.

• Adhere to and advocate for engineering best practices, such as structured logging, cross-service request tracking, and effective error handling.

• Aid in production observability through alerting mechanisms, dashboards, and runbooks.

• Create tools aimed at minimizing manual operations for engineering teams and facilitating self-service workflows for customer support.

• Engage in feature development from start to finish: participating in requirement discussions with the Product team, through implementation, to monitoring in production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in building backend systems within an enterprise setting.

• At least 1 year of programming experience in Python or Scala.

• Strong understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA).

• Familiarity with databases, caching methods, and low-latency service design.

• Experience in building and utilizing REST APIs with a focus on reliability and user experience.

• Knowledge of data synchronization patterns and the design of high-consistency data pipelines.

• Capable of navigating and contributing to an unfamiliar codebase with guidance, aiming for incremental improvements.

• Valuing automation and the reduction of manual operational burdens.

• Experience with Spark or big data processing is advantageous.

• Effective communication skills, enabling meaningful participation in product and engineering discussions.
