This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.
• Engage with exciting technologies: We utilize Elixir, Rust, JS, PowerShell, and TS.
• Design, develop, and implement test automation (E2E, unit, integration, performance) and infrastructure (test provider, CI integration, local development scripts).
• Create and sustain automation for your components; contribute enhancements to the test framework and CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate, document, estimate, and report on identified defects; collaborate with Software Engineers to assist in writing better tests and more maintainable code.
• Work with Product teams to clarify feature requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Design.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities throughout the complete software development life cycle.
• Develop and maintain testing documentation, assist newer team members during onboarding, and contribute to PDQ's Open Code Policy by addressing defects in the codebase.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with relevant programming languages; a strong preference for languages in our stack (Elixir, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell), but we are open to other languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• At least 2 years of experience with web testing tools, including E2E frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, WebDriver IO, etc.) and unit/component testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and an understanding of how testing fits into the development workflow.
• Knowledge of contemporary web infrastructure, design patterns, and the modern testing paradigm, including the various types of automated tests, their advantages and disadvantages, and when to apply each during the SDLC.
• Capacity to take ownership of work with some ambiguity, seek clarity when needed, and communicate effectively with stakeholders including Product, Developers, Designers, and end users.
