Software Engineer – Lifecycle

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement scalable backend services that support our unified communications platform across SMS, email, push notifications, and future channels.

• Build systems for real-time, event-driven messaging along with self-service marketing automation and experimentation features.

• Convert large, intricate datasets into high-impact marketing capabilities via APIs, streaming pipelines, and reverse ETL processes.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, lifecycle marketing, data insights, analytics, and data platform teams to define requirements and deliver effective, data-driven solutions.

• Independently lead medium-sized projects by proactively identifying risks, managing uncertainty, and steering execution from design to launch.

• Enhance our engineering culture by boosting system reliability, speeding up iteration, and effectively communicating technical trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent) with 3 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in creating and managing microservices and APIs within a cloud environment (preferably AWS).

• Proficient in at least one backend programming language such as Kotlin, Java, Ruby, or Python.

• Proven ability to independently execute projects, navigate uncertainty, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of functioning in a distributed team environment.

• Experience in supporting Marketing, Growth, or GTM teams, especially in settings involving CDPs, customer segmentation, or campaign orchestration.

• Familiarity with reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch, Census), data pipeline tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran, Databricks), or marketing automation platforms (e.g., Iterable, Braze, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud).

• Understanding of real-time event streaming systems and high-throughput messaging architectures.

• Experience with integrating third-party APIs and developing systems that ingest, transform, and expose large data volumes.

• A history of leading medium-to-large projects and contributing to system design decisions with long-term platform implications.
