Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Collect and document, comprehend and articulate functional, non-functional, and business requirements that have already been established.

• Assist and showcase increasing proficiency in the design and development of straightforward software applications, modeling data relationships.

• Acquire knowledge and utilize Cova's software applications and infrastructure architecture.

• Employ technologies such as Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Web Services, Github, Postgres, Docker, and AWS.

• Learn to create unit tests and conduct integration testing to ensure high application quality in alignment with business requirements.

• Develop an understanding of various deployment methods and tools, writing scripts and/or procedures to ensure efficient processes.

• Become acquainted with Cova systems, databases, security architecture, and networking.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with the fintech and technology sectors.

• Over 2 years of experience in a role focused on software development using Java.

• Required experience with Java and Spring Boot.

• Strong proficiency in SQL.

• Ability to learn Object-Oriented Concepts and the principles of a Software Development Life Cycle.

• Highly comfortable with various tools and frameworks utilized by Cova, including Spring Boot, GIT, and REST/SOAP.

• Understanding of the new application development process with the capability to apply these concepts with minimal guidance and supervision.

• Capability to learn to provide support and maintenance for software applications ranging from simple to complex.

• Flexibility and adaptability to change.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong multi-tasking skills.
