This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain deployment infrastructure for Data Engineering workflows, encompassing Airflow, Flink, and chalk.ai environments.
• Oversee and manage Chime's primary storage technologies — DynamoDB and RDS — catering to both data engineering and platform teams.
• Create infrastructure-as-code utilizing Terraform and handle workloads on Kubernetes in a production environment.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to convert their requirements into scalable and dependable infrastructure solutions.
• Propel reliability enhancements across the platform — focusing on observability, capacity planning, and operational best practices.
• Engage in the complete lifecycle of infrastructure modifications: design, build, test, and deployment.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Data Infra team's practices as Chime expands.
• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, emphasizing infrastructure, platform, or backend systems.
• Practical production experience with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AWS, especially managed database services like DynamoDB and RDS.
• Proficient programming skills in Python or a comparable language.
• A systems-thinking approach — you design with reliability, scalability, and maintainability in mind from the outset.
• Capability to work independently on ambiguous challenges and communicate effectively across teams.
• Experience with data ingestion and ETL pipelines is a significant advantage.
