📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and scalability of our backend systems, which encompass Postgres, job queues, OpenSearch, Redis, and the data pipelines facilitating event transfers between customer integrations and our product.

• Enhance our infrastructure to accommodate growth from tens of thousands of jobs to significantly larger volumes, proactively anticipating customer demand.

• Make critical trade-offs that impact whether infrastructure initiatives are completed in weeks or months.

• Establish high standards for reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with Will on architectural decisions and work alongside product engineers on the systems built atop yours.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in owning and scaling rapidly growing production systems that handle millions of events daily and hundreds of millions of writes.

• In-depth knowledge of Postgres at scale, including query optimization, indexing strategies, replication, and the failure scenarios learned through experience.

• Strong proficiency with job queue infrastructure, AWS, OpenSearch, and Redis.

• A keen sense for making trade-offs.

• Enthusiasm for tackling the scaling challenges ahead of us.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
