This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Design and develop essential elements of the SMTP relay harness, which encompasses Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) infrastructure, scalability, IP management, encryption, and DMARC support, progressing from initial concept to operational production.
β’ Collaborate with existing infrastructure engineers to build the production relay, gradually taking full ownership of designated services as the product evolves through Q3 and into Early Access.
β’ Work in partnership with Product Managers and Solutions Architects to convert customer needs into dependable, well-defined relay configurations that cater to both inbound and outbound scenarios.
β’ Manage and maintain tier-0 mail flow services responsible for processing substantial volumes of enterprise email at production Service Level Agreements (SLA), actively participating in on-call rotations and promoting ongoing reliability enhancements.
β’ Engage in technical design discussions regarding the integration of the relay with current inline products (such as outbound DLP, behavioral outbound, and misdirected email), aiding in the definition of the architecture for the broader Mail Flow platform.
β’ Elevate engineering standards by contributing to knowledge sharing, creating runbooks, and fostering professional growth within the team.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a comparable engineering discipline.
β’ Over 3 years of backend software development experience with distributed systems, specializing in the design and creation of production services.
β’ Practical experience with our technology stack: Go and/or Python.
β’ Proven ability to build features and components from the ground up and maintain them in a production environment, effectively balancing feature development with operational responsibilities.
β’ Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing 0-to-1 projects where you assist in shaping requirements alongside product and engineering stakeholders.
β’ Experience working with distributed teams; adept in asynchronous communication and written correspondence.
β’ Actual compensation will be determined based on various non-discriminatory factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
