Software Engineer II – Forward Deployment

📋 Description

• In the position of Software Engineer II, Forward Deployment at Flock Safety, you will be essential in transforming our technology into practical solutions for customers tackling intricate, real-world issues.

• This role is directly customer-facing.

• The purpose of this position is to connect our product with the environments in which it functions—guaranteeing that our solutions are deployed effectively, integrated seamlessly, and making an impact from the start.

• You will be part of our Nova team, which is developing a unified interface for investigators to gather, link, and act on crucial data more efficiently.

• You will collaborate closely with customers to assess their technical settings, design customized solutions, and ensure successful deployments—while also influencing the evolution of our product over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A solid foundation in software engineering, demonstrating proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.

• Experience with SQL, including the ability to write efficient queries and enhance performance.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, including knowledge of authentication methods and request/response structures.

• Working knowledge of networking principles such as VPNs, firewalls, IP whitelisting, and SSL/TLS.

• Proficiency in using Git and engaging in collaborative development processes.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with standard data formats, including JSON, XML, and CSV.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication abilities, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Experience in a customer-facing role.

• Willingness to travel (25–50%) and collaborate closely with customers onsite.
