Software Engineer II, Backend – Orchestration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Deliver backend functionality from start to finish, adhering to a specified framework while keeping the team informed on progress and promptly addressing any obstacles.

• Develop and release backend services capable of managing substantial payment volumes, with guidance from senior engineers on complex design and reliability decisions.

• Engage in architecture and design discussions, pose insightful questions, and gain an understanding of the technical decision-making process within the team.

• Monitor the performance of your work in production, identify problems early, and collaborate with the team to drive solutions.

• Produce code that your colleagues regard as high quality: production-ready, considerate of error handling, and designed with future engineers in mind.

• Adhere to Primer's engineering standards and cultivate a genuine understanding of their significance.

• Work alongside the Orchestration team during scoping sessions, code reviews, and the technical choices that influence the evolution of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in backend engineering with a proven history of delivering functioning software. You are capable of taking a clearly defined task and bringing it to production.

• A solid understanding of backend system behavior, along with a sincere curiosity about the reasons behind production failures.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and the principles that ensure services are reliable and easy to understand.

• A genuine interest in the post-deployment phase: monitoring, rollout, and the overall health of your creations.

• Openness to asking questions, receiving constructive criticism, and quickly learning from more seasoned engineers.

• Previous experience in payments, fintech, or infrastructure is advantageous, although the depth of engineering knowledge is prioritized over industry specifics.
