Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain dependable, high-quality integrations between G-P's platform and various third-party HRIS systems (such as ADP, Workday, etc.).

• Create and implement new services utilizing a serverless, event-driven microservices framework (AWS SAM/Lambda, EventBridge, SNS).

• Take ownership of and improve components of our public API platform, concentrating on robust REST API design, OAuth implementation, and the management of both inbound and outbound webhooks.

• Convert high-level product requirements and business needs into well-defined, practical workstreams, design specifications, and sprint stories.

• Work closely with Product and User Experience teams to grasp requirements effectively.

• Play a role in the advancement of the SDLC and advocate for engineering best practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in developing SaaS enterprise software within distributed teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of taking initiative and succeeding in a multi-region remote-first environment.

• A practical approach to problem-solving, with the flexibility to pivot and adapt to evolving requirements (this is prioritized over technical expertise).

• Strong proficiency in serverless architectures, particularly using AWS SAM/Lambda.

• Extensive, hands-on experience with designing and utilizing NoSQL databases, specifically DynamoDB (we exclusively use DynamoDB and do not employ relational databases).

• Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining microservices and bounded contexts, including the application of anti-corruption layers.

• Demonstrated expertise in REST API design and implementing event-driven patterns with technologies like AWS EventBridge and SNS, as well as experience with OAuth and webhooks (both inbound and outbound).

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices utilizing GitHub Actions.

• Experience in developing and integrating full-stack web applications using modern frameworks (e.g., Typescript, React, Node.js, APIs).
