Software Engineer, Dimensional Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• The Dimensional Data Team (DDT) aims to take ownership of and provide dimensional data on concepts such as Artists, Participants, Albums, and Tracks to both business users and internal WMG products, facilitating informed decisions for artists and music labels.

• We are in search of a Software Engineer to develop and oversee data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front-end products that simplify data complexity for our stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in backend or full stack development.

• You possess in-depth knowledge of AWS or other extensive cloud computing environments.

• You have strong skills in distributed systems: understanding how to enhance speed and scalability, as well as how to measure aspects such as latency and throughput.

• You uphold strong operational excellence best practices, including testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management.

• You have a solid grasp of developing APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing.

• The tech stack primarily includes Python, Databricks, AWS, Postgres, Typescript, React, and Snowflake. Familiarity with this tech stack is advantageous, though not essential.

• You demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to delivering impact in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.

• You possess excellent debugging skills and the capability to identify and resolve complex issues.

• You have a strong desire to grow, learn, and refine your skills in software development.

• Compensation: This position offers a base salary ranging from $90,000 to $135,000 CAD. Additionally, this role is eligible for a performance-based annual bonus.
