Software Engineer, Content Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement software primarily using Go and occasionally utilizing Python to enhance product availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.

• Conduct in-depth analysis of Go services and Reddit’s legacy Python monolith stack.

• Execute system-level modifications, improvements, and complex code adjustments.

• Identify platform deficiencies and contribute to the platform's evolution for sustained growth.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Reddit while gathering customer feedback.

• Share on-call duties and assist in monitoring and alerting processes.

• Enhance Reddit’s reliability, scalability, latency, and operational efficiency.

• Continuously develop technical skills, knowledge, and interpersonal abilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of software engineering experience in a production environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proficient in one or more backend programming languages including Golang, Python, C++, or Java.

• Familiarity with databases like Cassandra, Postgres, or Redis.

• Experience with contemporary cloud infrastructure such as Kubernetes, gRPC, AWS, or GCP.

• Excellent communication skills with a strong inclination to collaborate with diverse teams.

• Previous experience with scaled, high-traffic platform services and API design is advantageous.
