Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• In the role of Software Engineer, you will be an essential part of one of our diverse Product Squads, reporting directly to a Tech Lead. Your contributions will include developing new features, supporting the execution of our product roadmap, and actively participating throughout the software development lifecycle. We seek individuals who are problem-solvers, passionate about creating high-quality software, and eager to learn and enhance their technical skills within a collaborative Agile setting. Additional responsibilities encompass:

• - Assisting in the development of new features while adhering to our Continuous Delivery methodology to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

• - Collaborating with Product Managers, Product Designers, and fellow Engineers in an Agile team environment, employing practices such as Scrum, Kanban, and Pair Programming as needed.

• - Engaging in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

• - Writing clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code, following engineering best practices and contributing to a robust codebase.

• - Working collaboratively in an open, inclusive, and supportive engineering culture that prioritizes teamwork, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• - Gaining experience with the technologies utilized across our platform, including:

• - Clojure for backend microservices (or any other functional or object-oriented programming language with a willingness to learn Clojure).

• - React Native and Redux for mobile app development.

• - Kafka for asynchronous messaging.

• - AWS cloud services.

• - Docker for containerized applications.

• - Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

• - Showing a readiness to learn new technologies, tools, and engineering practices, supported by experienced colleagues.

• - Expanding your understanding of functional programming concepts and modern software engineering principles.

• - Positively participating in team discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our products and engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• - Proven commercial software engineering experience with one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Clojure, Scala, C#, Python, or Go.

• - Background in building and maintaining backend services, APIs, or microservice architectures.

• - Familiarity with React, React Native, or other contemporary front-end or mobile development frameworks is advantageous.

• - Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.

• - Proficiency in using Docker and developing containerized applications.

• - Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.

• - Experience with messaging or event streaming technologies, such as Kafka.

• - Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems.

• - Proficient in using Git for version control.

• - Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies.

• - Experience in writing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• - Background in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.

• - Understanding of clean code principles, design patterns, and secure coding practices.

• - Experience engaging in code reviews and collaborative software development.

• - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.

• - A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and consistently enhancing engineering practices.
