This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and uphold intricate, high-performance applications utilizing C++ (C++11/14/17/20 and beyond).
• Assume responsibility for vital system components, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Create and implement solutions that involve sophisticated memory management and concurrent/multithreaded architecture.
• Lead code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices throughout the team.
• Define and manage CMake-based build systems while handling multi-platform build configurations.
• Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines and workflows based on Docker containerization.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues using tools such as GDB and Valgrind; spearhead performance profiling and tuning efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within a Linux-based development setting.
• Contribute to and sustain automation scripts utilizing Python and shell scripting.
• Interact with relational databases through SQL as necessary.
• Manage source code, branching strategies, and release workflows using Git.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical development across the team.
• Engage in system design discussions, technical planning, and effort estimation.
• Over 10 years of experience with Mainframe Skills including COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSM.
• In-depth knowledge of dynamic memory allocation, RAII, and smart pointers (unique_ptr, shared_ptr, weak_ptr).
• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving memory leaks, dangling pointers, and buffer overflows.
• Familiarity with custom allocators and memory pool strategies.
• Strong understanding of the C++ threading model (std::thread, std::mutex, std::atomic, std::condition_variable).
• Experience with lock-free and wait-free programming paradigms.
• Ability to identify and address race conditions, deadlocks, and thread safety issues.
• Expert-level experience with CMake for cross-platform build configurations.
• Proficient in using Docker for containerized development and deployment environments.
• Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Advanced proficiency with GDB for low-level debugging and post-mortem analysis.
• Skilled in using Valgrind (Memcheck, Helgrind, Callgrind) for memory and thread analysis.
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent industry experience will be accepted in place of formal education.
