Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and launch features across the Publish platform, focusing on the visual editing experience, component rendering, and the integrations that facilitate Publish's functionality across various customer technology stacks, overseeing implementation, testing, and production validation.

• Operate at the crossroads of developer infrastructure and non-technical user experience, tackling the complex challenge of ensuring a component-driven, code-supported CMS provides a seamless experience for marketers while remaining reliable and modular for engineering teams.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to convert requirements into well-defined solutions, identifying edge cases early and making prudent trade-offs between speed and quality.

• Engage in customer-facing integrations across frameworks, hosting environments, and design systems, ensuring that Publish operates reliably within the real-world contexts of our enterprise clients.

• Take part in the customer feedback process, analyzing customer session recordings to identify friction points, then translating those insights directly into the features you are developing.

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code, with a focus on browser rendering, real-time preview, and the unique challenges of component serialization within a visual CMS.

• Actively collaborate with a global team, providing clear context, thoughtfully reviewing peers’ code, and continuously enhancing the quality of the work.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in full-stack web development with a proven history of delivering features to production within a team setting.

• Strong expertise in React and TypeScript/Node.js, with a solid understanding of browser rendering, component composition, and writing code that others can build upon.

• A keen interest in AI and agentic systems, with enthusiasm for creating products where AI actively contributes to content workflows and a desire to influence its practical implementation.

• A solid foundation in APIs and backend technologies, including experience in building or utilizing REST APIs, and a genuine interest in the platform layer beyond just user interface.

• An eye for product quality, with the ability to discern when something may not meet user expectations and a commitment to delivering the right solution rather than merely shipping it.

• Comfort with ambiguity, demonstrating the ability to make progress without fully scoped tickets by asking insightful questions, making reasonable assumptions, and flagging blockers early.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and contemporary web integration patterns, including the communication between frontend applications and backend services or third-party platforms.

• A collaborative and growth-oriented mindset, seeking feedback, learning from more experienced engineers, and taking ownership of your projects from initial commit to production.
