Software Development Engineer IV – Test, TS/Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold dependable automated tests spanning TypeScript-based UI and Python API layers.

• Take ownership of and enhance test automation for intricate frontend user workflows.

• Create, maintain, and optimize automated UI test suites utilizing Playwright and TypeScript.

• Contribute to the strategy for API integration and end-to-end testing, including automation and coverage using Python and pytest.

• Engage in all stages of product development, from requirements gathering and solution design to validation, deployment, and release preparation.

• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers to identify quality risks early and enhance testability.

• Implement risk-based testing methodologies and make practical decisions regarding test coverage at unit, integration, API, and end-to-end levels.

• Enhance the reliability, speed, and maintainability of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

• Investigate test failures, intermittent tests, and production issues, driving root cause analysis with actionable enhancements.

• Clearly communicate quality risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to engineering and product stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in test automation or software engineering focused on testing.

• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and contemporary frontend test automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.

• Proficient in designing, debugging, extending, and maintaining test automation frameworks and shared testing utilities.

• Solid understanding of modern frontend applications, user workflows, API integration, asynchronous behavior, and common sources of UI test instability.

• Experience with API testing and practical knowledge of Python, preferably with pytest, or a strong willingness to engage with Python-based API test automation.

• Familiarity with test design techniques and risk-based testing approaches.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and enhancing automated test execution in CI environments.

• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and capacity to triage complex issues across application, test, and infrastructure layers.

• Experience in an agile engineering environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with SDETs, software engineers, product teams, and UX designers.

• Proficient in both Polish and English.
