Software Development Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the engineering strategy in accordance with the company's goals. Offer architectural and organizational direction to guarantee long-term growth and success.

• Lead, mentor, and nurture various engineering teams, including team leads and senior developers. Set clear objectives and create opportunities for advancement within a global, distributed workforce.

• Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of product and platform initiatives. Continuously enhance workflows, development methodologies, and technical decision-making processes.

• Oversee the progression of system architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. Advocate for the adoption of contemporary technologies and development practices.

• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and executive stakeholders to align priorities, define technical requirements, and uphold a shared roadmap.

• Recognize and address risks throughout the development lifecycle. Promote best practices in observability, security, testing, and release management.

• Cultivate a high-performance culture rooted in transparency, continuous improvement, and a collective commitment to quality and innovation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.

• Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, cross-functional engineering teams in complex, high-growth settings.

• Extensive knowledge of modern architectures, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and microservices.

• Profound understanding of Agile development methodologies, CI/CD practices, and engineering metrics.

• Experience managing distributed teams and scaling organizations across various geographies.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at engaging with both technical and non-technical leaders.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure environments.

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
