Software Developer – Interfaces & Driver Communication

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development of interfaces and drivers to connect various systems and medical laboratory instruments to our Laboratory Information System (LIS).

• Implementation and management of communication protocols (e.g., HL7, ASTM, proprietary device protocols).

• Analysis of device specifications and execution of the corresponding communication logic.

• Integration of analyzers and system components into current laboratory environments.

• Performance of tests, fault analysis, and optimizations during operation.

• Assurance of software quality while adhering to regulatory requirements.

• Creation and upkeep of technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, or a related field.

• Proficiency in software development using C/C++, Java, and TCL.

• Expertise in interface development and device communication.

• Familiarity with HL7 (especially HL7-FHIR) is preferred.

• Ideally: understanding of the laboratory environment (LIS, analyzers, workflows).

• Experience in software testing (e.g., unit tests, integration tests, test automation).

• Knowledge of serial communication, TCP/IP, and various data formats.

• Structured, analytical, and quality-focused work approach.

• Team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills.
