Software Developer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide the daily operations necessary for the ongoing support of design, construction, startup, and/or maintenance activities related to complex high-technology systems or projects.

• Provide expert insights on engineering and technical matters, offering recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.

• Conduct independent reviews and evaluations in specialized areas, guiding project teams to achieve successful outcomes on complex high-technology projects.

• Collaborate with management personnel and customer representatives.

• Establish and enforce work standards, assign schedules, evaluate work quality, and communicate the organization's goals, objectives, and policies to team members.

• Lead the project team, coordinating with functional organizations and supervising senior personnel within the project framework.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain containerized environments utilizing Red Hat OpenShift.

• Install, configure, and provide support for Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software.

• Integrate CMC components into the OpenShift-based infrastructure.

• Perform system tuning, patching, upgrades, and operational support.

• Diagnose deployment, configuration, and runtime issues throughout the stack.

• Work with technical teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance.

• Mentor LANL staff on OpenShift operations, sharing best practices for deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business Management.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in a specialized technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, including deployment, administration, and operations.

• Demonstrated experience in installing and configuring Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software.

• Strong comprehension of containerization, Kubernetes concepts, and platform operations.

• Background in Linux system administration.

• Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must successfully pass a federal background investigation to obtain and maintain DOE Q security clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal contract security mandates.

• Participation in Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing is necessary.
