Software Architect – IFS Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the complete solution architecture for IFS Cloud projects, encompassing extensions, integrations, data migration, and reporting layers.

• Facilitate technical design workshops with clients to convert business needs into scalable, upgrade-friendly IFS Cloud solutions.

• Establish and uphold architectural standards, design patterns, and coding conventions across various project teams.

• Evaluate and authorize technical designs, integration specifications, and custom developments generated by Systems Engineers and Software Engineers.

• Provide technical guidance across IFS Cloud Solution Areas, including platform extensibility (IFS Developer Studio, Aurena, Lobby and Page Designer), integration (REST/OData, IFS Connect, Event Mesh), and data migration tools.

• Proactively identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate design challenges that could impact delivery timelines, costs, or upgrade compatibility.

• Collaborate with Project Managers to convert architectural decisions into estimable, deliverable work packages and assist in SOW and change request scoping.

• Stay informed about IFS Cloud release roadmaps (e.g., 25R2, 26R1) and evaluate the impact of new platform capabilities on current and future client solutions.

• Mentor Systems Engineers and Software Engineers on architectural principles, technical best practices, and IFS Cloud platform capabilities.

• Support pre-sales and business development by providing technical solutions, effort estimations, and architectural insights for proposals and discovery workshops.

• Uphold technical documentation standards, including solution architecture documents, integration design documents, and technical decision logs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior technical lead in IFS Cloud or IFS Applications implementations, ideally across multiple full lifecycle projects.

• Extensive technical understanding of IFS Cloud architecture, including the extensibility framework, IFS Connect, Event Mesh, REST/OData APIs, and Lobby/Page Designer.

• Strong comprehension of data migration methods and tools within IFS Cloud, including legacy data extraction, transformation, and loading strategies.

• Experience in designing integrations between IFS Cloud and third-party systems (e.g., EAM, HCM, finance, logistics, or field service platforms).

• Familiarity with IFS Cloud Solution Areas relevant to client engagements (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Projects, Field Service).

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior client stakeholders.

• Prior experience in a consulting or professional services delivery model, including SOW-based scoping and effort estimation.

• Relevant IFS Cloud certifications are highly desirable.

• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control disciplines within an IFS Cloud or ERP delivery context is preferred.
