Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient SaaS solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure cloud services.

• Spearhead the design and execution of enterprise-level data warehouses, which includes data modeling, ETL pipelines, and performance enhancement.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps, and data teams to guarantee seamless integration of applications and data systems.

• Create architectural documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications for application frameworks and data platforms.

• Offer expert guidance on Azure services, encompassing App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage.

• Establish and uphold architecture standards, best practices, and governance models across various projects.

• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure alignment of architecture with strategic objectives, supporting scalability, compliance, and maintainability of systems.

• Assess emerging technologies and tools for potential adoption to enhance performance, scalability, or cost efficiency.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software developers and engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal (minimum B2 level), with exceptional communication abilities.

• Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in application development, particularly with a focus on .NET (C#), ASP.NET Core, or comparable Microsoft frameworks.

• More than 5 years of experience in designing data warehouses and utilizing the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI).

• Strong grasp of cloud-native application architecture and microservices.

• Extensive experience within the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem.

• Proven background in Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as ARM templates or Bicep.

• Expertise in designing for scalability, fault tolerance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to lead discussions and influence architectural decisions.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.

• Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Leadership experience is highly desirable.
