Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold Cresteo's software solutions.

• Utilize a diverse technology stack to guarantee that products are functional, efficient, reliable, and scalable.

• Take ownership of the technical foundation of an AI solution from the outset.

• Establish architecture, technology strategy, engineering standards, and the pathway to production.

• Collaborate as part of the initial core team to transform a developing healthcare business need into a scalable, AI-native, production-ready solution.

• Specify technical scope, development practices, and implementation strategies.

• Work alongside Business Analysts, Data Scientists, engineers, and client technology teams from discovery to delivery.

• Provide technical guidance and serve as the technical authority throughout projects.

• Document solution architectures, technical specifications, architectural decisions, diagrams, standards, and implementation guidelines.

• Assess technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches while articulating trade-offs.

• Convert business and product requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

• Engage directly with clients and steer technical decisions amidst evolving requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing and delivering intricate software solutions, with ownership of architecture from the initial definition to implementation.

• Solid hands-on software engineering background, especially with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Familiarity with contemporary frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.

• Proven track record in designing and delivering production-grade AI or machine learning solutions.

• High level of AI fluency, with AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows integrated into daily engineering practices.

• Strong experience with Databricks and modern data platforms, including effective collaboration with Data Science and Data Engineering teams.

• Experience in defining comprehensive solution architectures that encompass application, data, AI, integration, security, and cloud components.

• Proficiency in working across various cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, distributed systems, databases, and cloud-native application architectures.

• Ability to evaluate technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches while clearly stating their trade-offs.

• Experience joining projects in their early stages and defining technical scope, architecture, engineering standards, development practices, and implementation strategies.

• Excellent documentation skills, covering solution architecture, technical specifications, architectural decisions, diagrams, standards, and implementation guidelines.

• Ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

• Experience working closely with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, engineers, and client technology teams.

• Strong technical leadership with the capability to guide engineering teams and act as the technical authority throughout the project.

• Proven experience working directly with clients, navigating ambiguity, challenging assumptions, and driving technical decisions while requirements are still evolving.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Experience delivering solutions in healthcare, regulated industries, or other complex enterprise environments is highly valued.

• Broad technical curiosity and adaptability, with the capacity to quickly comprehend and work within unfamiliar technologies, systems, and client environments.
