Social Media Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Monitor various social media platforms and online communities to identify emerging trends, discussions, and opportunities.

• Develop and manage content calendars for multiple accounts and platforms.

• Curate and source pertinent content that aligns with the organization's objectives and messaging.

• Create social media copy, captions, posts, and quick-response content.

• Analyze political, cultural, and social media trends to guide content strategy.

• Support content planning, scheduling, and publishing processes.

• Collaborate with team members to design innovative and timely social media campaigns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Daily active user of key social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging networks.

• Strong grasp of online culture, memes, trends, and digital communication practices.

• Keen interest in politics, public affairs, current events, and online political discussions.

• Outstanding writing and communication abilities.

• Capability to write in various tones and styles, ranging from professional messaging to internet-native content.

• Familiarity with contemporary online language, trends, and digital communities.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage content calendars and meet deadlines.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and responding to breaking news and developing stories.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Experience in political campaigns, advocacy efforts, public affairs, or issue-based communications.

• Texas political experience or knowledge of the Texas political landscape is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel), and basic design editing tools (such as Canva, Opus) is preferred.

• Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
