Social Media Manager – French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Oversees the daily operations of Chess.com's official French social media channels across various platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).

• Creates, produces, and shares original, high-quality content that captivates both new and existing audiences.

• Actively engages in conversations, trends, and notable creator activities within the global chess community to ensure Chess.com’s presence remains timely, relevant, and authoritative.

• Evaluates and reports on social media performance metrics and audience insights to guide content strategy and enhance engagement, reach, and growth.

• Works in collaboration with marketing, content, and events teams to design and implement social media campaigns that align with company-wide initiatives.

• Addresses member inquiries or concerns raised through social media.

• Recognizes emerging platforms in pertinent countries, regions, and languages, and tests new content formats by anticipating algorithm changes, utilizing new tools, and adjusting to platform updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing social media channels, ideally within the gaming, entertainment, or tech sectors.

• Demonstrated capability to create timely, highly engaging content (such as memes and viral videos) that resonates with internet culture and aligns with brand voice.

• A good sense of humor.

• Proficiency in basic photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut).

• In-depth understanding of content strategy, platform algorithms, and best practices for major social media platforms.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills suited for a fully distributed, remote team environment.

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

• High cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to tailor content and messaging for French-speaking communities while respecting cultural nuances.
