Small Animal Internal Medicine Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Conduct phone-based clinical consultations for veterinary professionals throughout the US and Canada.

• Provide real-time phone consultations concerning laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and treatment options.

• Assist clinicians with proper specimen handling techniques and identify factors that could affect test accuracy.

• Offer guidance on IDEXX reference laboratory tests, detailing specimen requirements, clinical utility, and result interpretation.

• Handle a steady caseload while adhering to turnaround time expectations and maintaining availability during designated hours.

• Enhance and expand clinical expertise through ongoing education and review of contemporary veterinary literature.

• Accurately record all consultation interactions within the CRM system.

• Keep active board certification and relevant veterinary licenses in good standing.

⛳️ Requirements

• DVM (or equivalent veterinary degree) with ACVIM (Small Animal Internal Medicine) board certification (DACVIM, SAIM) or an equivalent qualification.

• Valid veterinary license (state or provincial, as appropriate).

• Strong clinical knowledge in small animal internal medicine and diagnostic interpretation.

• Proficient in conveying complex medical information clearly and effectively over the phone.

• Comfortable working in a remote, technology-driven setting with a dedicated office space and high-speed internet.

• Dedicated to maintaining Diplomate status and pursuing ongoing continuing education.

• Capable of managing multiple consultations and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are advantageous.
