This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct investigations into suspected fraud or other illegal activities affecting the Company, which includes interviewing individuals, performing database searches, taking statements, and identifying sources of information and witnesses.
• Assess information to evaluate its reliability.
• Refer and coordinate investigation tasks with external agencies.
• Offer training and support to all departments involved in the claims handling process.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, or five years of experience in insurance claims investigations (this includes TCR1, TCR2, CU, PIP technical and/or PIP litigation desk experience), professional investigative experience with law enforcement, or seven years of professional investigative experience related to economic or insurance matters.
• Experience managing in-person or telephone statements from various parties during investigations in a manner that enhances GEICO’s customer base and promotes customer satisfaction through effective, precise, and courteous interactions.
• Capability to gather a wide range of evidence pertinent to an investigation and draw conclusions based on the collected information relevant to the applicable fraud investigation.
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize investigative workloads and manage stressful situations.
• Must consistently maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Must document files clearly and concisely in a professional written manner, ensuring they are comprehensible to customers, clients, colleagues, and other employees within the organization.
• Must obtain and sustain a valid driver’s license, certifications, and permits in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company and departmental standards.
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying materials and equipment, as well as loading them into and out of vehicles and transporting them up and down stairs.
• Must be able to maneuver on, off, in, around, and underneath vehicles, including but not limited to RVs and commercial vehicles.
• Must exercise caution and remain aware of surroundings while performing the essential duties associated with the position.
