This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Perform investigations into suspected fraud or other unlawful activities against the Company, which includes conducting interviews, making database inquiries, collecting statements, and identifying sources of information and witnesses.
• Assess information to establish its reliability.
• Refer and manage investigation tasks to external agencies.
• Offer training and assistance to all departments involved in the claims processing procedure.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Over 3 years of experience in claims adjusting, or experience in P&C SIU/Fraud Investigation, or 4 years of relevant investigative experience in law enforcement (including military) or the fraud industry.
• Proven experience in handling in-person or phone statements from various stakeholders during investigations, ensuring that interactions build GEICO’s customer base and enhance customer satisfaction through efficient, accurate, and courteous communication.
• Capability to collect a wide array of evidence related to investigations and draw conclusions based on the gathered information relevant to fraud investigations.
• Demonstrated skill in organizing and prioritizing substantial claim volumes and managing stressful situations.
• Consistently maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to document files clearly and concisely in a professional manner that is understandable to customers, clients, colleagues, and other employees within the organization.
• Must possess and retain a valid driver’s license, along with certifications and permits as per state and federal regulations, as well as company and departmental standards.
• Capability to lift and transport materials and equipment, including loading and unloading them from vehicles and carrying them up and down stairs.
• Must be able to maneuver on, off, in, around, and under vehicles, including but not limited to RVs and commercial vehicles.
• Exercise caution and maintain awareness of surroundings while performing essential job duties.
• Ability to learn and apply extensive technical and procedural information.
• Understanding of city, state, and local regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and medical terminology.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, along with current or prior experience in SIU investigations, working within diverse teams across various SIU job functions.
