Site Technician – Underground Mining Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, repair, and assemble Caterpillar underground mining and earthmoving equipment safely and efficiently.

• Utilize Caterpillar diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical issues.

• Repair and assemble allied or competitive underground earthmoving machinery while adhering to established timelines and quality benchmarks.

• Generate accurate and prompt service reports along with necessary documentation.

• Function as an integral member of the onsite mechanical team.

• Foster positive relationships with customers.

• Adhere to company and client health and safety protocols and procedures.

• Engage in safe, environmentally responsible, and health-conscious work practices that align with Toromont’s Health and Safety policies, programs, and initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of post-secondary education in heavy equipment, heavy vehicle, or heavy engine mechanics.

• At least 2 years of experience as a Technician in the repair and servicing of underground mining and earthmoving equipment.

• Possession of a Provincial Red Seal license in heavy equipment mechanics (421A) or truck & coach mechanics (310T).

• Demonstrated experience in repairing and maintaining underground mining equipment, as detailed in the resume.

• Underground common core certification is a significant advantage.

• Ability to adhere to the health and safety policies and procedures of the company and clients.
