Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Assist development teams in the implementation, rollout, and testing of new features and products.

• Design and establish new development, QA, and production infrastructure, ensuring compliance with operational requirements and best practices.

• Enhance and maintain multiple existing systems.

• Contribute to the development of the UKS (UpCloud Kubernetes Service) product.

• Collaborate with the operations team to manage daily tasks that ensure production stability, with a focus on software, automation, and monitoring.

• Plan and execute change management and routine maintenance with minimal disruption to production.

• Ensure that UpCloud’s cloud systems operate continuously, 24/7.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in Linux server administration.

• Strong understanding of distributed computing systems.

• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with virtualization and storage systems.

• Experience with high-availability databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.

• Scripting capabilities in Bash and Python.

• Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Ansible and Terraform/OpenTofu.

• Ability to design and implement effective monitoring solutions.

• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.

• Basic understanding of server and networking hardware as well as data centers.

• Proven skills in problem-solving and finding solutions.

• Software development experience is a plus.

• A security-oriented mindset is advantageous.

• Strong documentation and presentation skills are appreciated.
