Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert operational assistance to our cloud nodes operating on AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Utilize technologies like Linux (Debian), Docker, and programming languages such as Java, Python, and bash.

• Participate in the on-call Level 1 or Level 2 rotation.

• Collaborate with our customers’ engineers to resolve intriguing issues related to OpenSearch and other supported technologies.

• Execute complex cluster operations, including migrations, upgrades, and maintenance across our fleet.

• Create and continuously enhance our suite of internal automation tools, applications, and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience with OpenSearch technology, preferably encompassing issue investigation, upgrades, and migrations.

• A motivation to enhance skills and develop into a true expert.

• Experience in diagnosing issues and problems with other technologies like Cassandra and Kafka.

• Solid experience working with at least one Public Cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Previous IT customer service/support experience.

• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science and software engineering, particularly in Operating System internals, memory management, and networking.

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Linux.

• Outstanding ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal English.

• Capability to collaborate effectively within a team while also demonstrating initiative.

• Ability to adhere to required processes and procedures.

• Experience in investigating and researching OpenSearch (and related technologies) issues by reviewing the codebase or Jira project is a plus.

• Proficiency in programming with Python or Java.

• Experience with source code management using Git.
