Site Reliability Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in key ITIL processes, such as Incident management, request management, problem management, and change management.

• Create and document runbooks as well as standard operating procedures.

• Handle operational requests from our Application Support team and various internal stakeholders.

• Assess and resolve issues within established SLA’s to ensure a superior customer experience and facilitate other development and support teams.

• Oversee services post-launch by evaluating and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

• Detect and troubleshoot issues, explore root causes, and advocate for resolutions across the organization.

• Engage with infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members on features and implementations within an agile framework.

• Provide reports on SLAs and performance metrics as part of the Operations team.

• Partake in on-call rotation duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Over 2 years of experience in an IT Operational, DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering role.

• Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS and Azure) and a developing-level understanding of managing and setting up cloud infrastructure.

• Proficient in coding across any language. You have deployed your work in a production setting and can provide examples.

• Experience with tools and platforms such as Ansible, Build/Release Pipelines, Docker, Github, Terraform, etc.

• Developing-level knowledge of distributed systems in the cloud, utilizing observability and telemetry for monitoring code deployments and service level objectives (SLOs).

• Developing experience with the operational components of software systems using telemetry, centralized logging, and alerting with tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.
