Site Reliability Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the strategy for observability and reliability architecture across Summit’s platforms and services.

• Implement site reliability principles based on SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs throughout teams and platforms.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations leadership to ensure system design aligns with resilience and scalability objectives.

• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of observability frameworks and standards.

• Oversee the automation of monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures.

• Act as the escalation point and lead for complex incidents across platforms.

• Guide the resolution process and conduct post-incident analyses.

• Assess and integrate emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

• Mentor and coach engineering teams on reliability, automation, and ongoing improvement.

• Deliver scalable observability frameworks, enhance incident detection and resolution, promote reliability practices, and develop strategic platform roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing observability and reliability platforms at scale.

• Capacity to influence architectural decisions and strategy across engineering, operations, and product teams.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and shaping organizational practices.

• Strategic mindset coupled with hands-on problem-solving skills for complex systems.

• Proficiency with observability stacks such as ELK, Grafana, Graphite, InfluxDB, LogicMonitor, or Prometheus.

• Advanced experience in automation using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.

• Experience in designing reliability frameworks for multi-cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, or hybrid setups.

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with industries where compliance, reliability, security, and auditability are critical.
