Simulation Optimisation Consultant, AnyLogic, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Connect the framework: Integrate a modular simulation optimization framework with production AnyLogic models, databases, APIs, and plant-data environments.

• Turn questions into use cases: Transform operational inquiries — including scheduling, resource allocation, operating parameters, energy, logistics, and throughput — into simulation and optimization use cases.

• Build in Java: Create and sustain Java-based components that execute scenarios, manage inputs, parse outputs, and facilitate reliable optimization runs.

• Make results credible: Establish and validate simulation input/output data contracts and business KPIs, ensuring that recommendations are reproducible and actionable by operational stakeholders.

• Optimize smartly: Employ appropriate optimization techniques for real-valued, scheduling, selection, and multi-objective challenges — designing efficient experiments for lengthy simulations.

• Prove the value: Validate recommendations against live models, quantify operational benefits, and assist in transitioning from prototype to a repeatable operational process.

• Operationalize it: Engage in the development of dashboards, regular study scheduling, workflow integration, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.

• Collaborate closely: Partner with client stakeholders and the larger delivery team to prioritize tasks, resolve issues, and uphold technical quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrable hands-on commercial experience with AnyLogic — capable of developing, adapting, integrating, and troubleshooting simulation models.

• Strong Java development background, with a focus on integration-oriented or production-quality software engineering.

• Experience in discrete-event simulation; familiarity with agent-based modeling is highly beneficial.

• Background in manufacturing, process, plant, logistics, supply chain, or other operational simulation environments.

• Practical knowledge of optimization, operations research, simulation-based decision support, digital twins, or related analytical methodologies.

• Experience in integrating software with databases, APIs, structured data inputs/outputs, and production data environments.

• Ability to convey technical results effectively in terms of operational decisions, constraints, and measurable outcomes.
