This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +20 more states.
• Work closely with VA stakeholders to thoroughly comprehend and document their experiences, translating those insights into service blueprints, ecosystem maps, journey maps, and various design artifacts.
• Employ mixed-method discovery techniques to reveal deep insights regarding the interactions among systems, business processes, and individuals.
• Oversee the co-design and refinement of both low and high-fidelity service design artifacts to validate assumptions, identify pain points, and highlight opportunities that resonate with VA staff.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data engineers, and other service designers to ensure the timely and accurate application of knowledge to downstream deliverables.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders throughout the product ecosystem, actively engaging affected stakeholders to validate assumptions, share insights, and facilitate sensemaking.
• Collaborate with peers within the government ecosystem to proactively address and resolve issues that affect our ability to achieve desired outcomes.
• A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in research, UX design, and/or service design, managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills that allow you to oversee high-profile, medium-to-high complexity projects within a fast-paced organizational environment.
• A passion for and proficiency in conducting research in both undefined problem spaces, utilizing design research and strategic thinking to frame insights effectively.
• Experience working within cross-functional teams utilizing agile methodologies.
• An eagerness to explore various perspectives and seek assistance when necessary.
• Proven experience in uncovering processes, methods, tools, and evolving approaches to meet client expectations.
• Ability to clearly and succinctly visualize and articulate complex ideas.
• Demonstrated capability to leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to accelerate research synthesis, enhance communication clarity, streamline workflows, and improve team outcomes while applying sound human judgment and mission understanding.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguous and rapidly changing environments, with a proactive approach to experimentation, continuous learning, and enhancing systems, processes, and methods of working.
