Server Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide support for VMware-based virtualized environments in both production and non-production settings.

• Carry out infrastructure and file server migrations, which include discovery, planning, migration, validation, and post-migration assistance.

• Conduct data migrations utilizing tools like Robocopy, RClone, and PowerShell scripts.

• Administer Windows file servers, managing NTFS permissions and Windows shares.

• Assist with Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID tasks related to access and migrations.

• Work collaboratively with networking, security, cloud, and external teams to ensure migration preparedness.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation and deliver status updates to stakeholders.

• Engage in technical meetings and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English at a B2 level.

• Extensive experience in VMware and Windows Server administration.

• Familiarity with on-premise datacenter environments.

• Practical experience with file and data migrations.

• Understanding of Active Directory, NTFS permissions, and Windows shares.

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.

• Basic knowledge of networking and VPN concepts.

• Capability to work independently and oversee tasks from start to finish.
