
Sensor Modeling Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and architect physics-based sensor models with varying fidelity levels for eVTOL aircraft.
• Manage the complete development lifecycle of sensor models, which includes architecture, implementation, testing, and integration in the lab.
• Create models that cover a range of aviation-grade sensors, including IMU, GNSS, INS, air data systems, and radar altimeters.
• Develop all sensor models using Simulink, ensuring compliance with modeling standards and incorporating best practices for model management.
• Analyze and interpret data from simulations, lab tests, and flight tests to detect model inaccuracies and evaluate real-world sensor performance.
• Work in collaboration with state estimation, control law, and simulation engineers to ensure models facilitate effective simulation testing.
• Establish tools and processes aimed at improving maintainability and boosting simulation performance.
• Over 3 years of experience in designing, implementing, and testing simulation models for physical systems.
• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Simulink for large-scale modeling, simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) integration.
• Extensive technical knowledge of various sensors employed in aerospace applications.
• Proven ability to think critically, from high-level architecture to detailed implementation aspects.
