Senior/Staff Software Engineer, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage production-quality infrastructure with a high degree of autonomy.

• Create automated testing frameworks for software operating across diverse edge hardware.

• Ensure tests are reproducible and facilitate easy diagnosis of failures across various hardware platforms.

• Empower Product Engineering and QA teams to add automated tests while the DevOps team maintains and enhances the automation platform.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, build and release processes, deployment automation, developer tools, and overall platform reliability.

• Identify impactful engineering opportunities, outline technical strategies, develop production software, and lead significant initiatives from uncertainty to successful execution.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to boost developer productivity and improve software quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Senior- or Staff-level influence in designing, developing, and managing software systems; emphasis on scope, ownership, and technical leadership rather than just years of experience.

• Strong programming skills in at least one production language, with the capability to work across multiple languages and technology stacks.

• Python and Bash are frequently employed in automation tasks.

• The primary product stack includes Go and TypeScript.

• Experience in one or more infrastructure-centric fields: SRE, Production Engineering, CI/CD, Build & Release, Developer Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or Test Infrastructure.

• Extensive knowledge of Linux, containers, networking, software delivery pipelines, and operational troubleshooting.

• Hands-on experience in designing or supporting automated testing at the unit, integration, end-to-end, or system level.

• Ability to handle ambiguity, make informed technical trade-offs, collaborate across teams, and achieve results with minimal supervision.

• Must be eligible to acquire a U.S. Government security clearance.

• Bonus: Experience with HIL testing, test infrastructure platforms, orchestrating remote device fleets, edge or embedded systems, performance testing, chaos engineering, internal platform observability, or large-scale distributed systems.
