This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, deploy, configure, and manage both cloud and on-premises network security solutions.
• Ensure the integrity and security of the network device inventory.
• Carry out implementation tasks for service transitions and gradual migrations.
• Inventory and update firewall and tunnel policies.
• Implement changes to GlobalProtect and Prisma Access policies.
• Install Gigamon and ExtraHop components, ensuring feeds are validated.
• Deploy Illumio visibility solutions.
• Conduct policy cleanup driven by AlgoSec.
• Create, maintain, and update diagrams, user manuals, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Support and develop automation for configuration, validation, and reporting tasks.
• Monitor and enhance existing and new deployments.
• Participate in agency phased rollouts under the guidance of Principal or Lead engineers.
• Collaborate across teams and with external customer groups to implement solutions and support infrastructure development.
• Manage escalations and provide assessments, recommendations, and resolutions for issues.
• Mentor and guide junior professionals.
• Coordinate the procurement of hardware, software, and subcontractor services as required.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Next Generation Firewalls and enterprise network security technologies for Senior level.
• 8+ years of experience with Next Generation Firewalls and enterprise network security technologies for Principal level.
• Networking experience in routing, firewall management, and switching.
• Proficiency with Palo Alto Networks, including NGFW, Panorama / Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect.
• Experience with Juniper SRX.
• Familiarity with F5 technologies.
• Exposure to Illumio, Gigamon, ExtraHop, or AlgoSec.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in delivering presentations and technical briefings to varied audiences.
• Strong documentation practices.
• Must be able to pass a background check to qualify for a Public Trust position.
• US Citizenship is required.
• No security clearance is currently required; no clearance must be acquired.
• Less than 10% travel is necessary.
• 40 hours of work are scheduled weekly.
