Manager, Network Engineering – Transport

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the network engineering team and spearhead initiatives to scale the IP and Optical backbone while ensuring consistency and stability.

• Steer the technical roadmap, cloud connectivity strategy, and budgetary considerations.

• Collaborate with internal service partners to enhance IP and Optical network architecture in response to changing service demands.

• Liaise with external vendors for roadmap alignment, validate new designs or platforms, and facilitate post-mortem discussions.

• Promote operational excellence and best practices in managing and scaling infrastructure.

• Champion the backbone network automation strategy and its development.

• Create tools to improve consistency across various hybrid cloud environments.

• Oversee the development, testing, and integration of new hardware and software platforms.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing multi-vendor hyper-scale IP and Optical backbone, data center networks, and public cloud networks.

• Demonstrated success in managing global engineering teams and independently leading initiatives with minimal supervision.

• Proficient in DWDM, ROADM, MP-BGP, MPLS, RSVP, Segment Routing, IS-IS, QoS, and MACsec.

• Experience with optical networks, core backbone routing, DDoS mitigation, and edge network services.

• Skilled in managing network configurations using Bash, Python, Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.

• Experience in operating within FedRAMP or other regulated environments.

• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.

• Strong history of developing and enhancing tools, platforms, and infrastructure.

• Familiarity with network simulation and testing tools.

• Experience in automating systems to minimize operational toil.

• Proven application of AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, enhance efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
