This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Take charge of designing and implementing intricate features, plugins, themes, and integrations, overseeing the process from initial planning to final deployment.
• Serve as the Technical Lead on projects, coordinating development activities and acting as the primary technical resource for your team.
• Convert complex client needs into robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions while proactively identifying potential risks and edge cases.
• Engage in client meetings and clearly communicate technical concepts, progress updates, and constraints to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, offering actionable and constructive feedback to team members across various experience levels.
• Lead and contribute to architecture discussions, refactoring efforts, and strategic technical decisions.
• Develop and uphold CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and observability practices to ensure reliable delivery pipelines.
• Promote adherence to engineering standards, focusing on code quality, documentation, test coverage, accessibility, performance, and security.
• Mentor and assist fellow engineers through collaborative pairing, code reviews, and informal guidance.
• Work closely with engineers, QA, DevOps, Project Managers, and Designers to guarantee timely and high-quality project delivery.
• Exceptional proficiency in PHP (5+ years), with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong expertise in WordPress development, including custom plugins, themes, Gutenberg blocks, WP REST API, and complex integrations.
• Practical experience with Gutenberg / Block Editor, encompassing the creation of custom blocks using React.
• Solid background in JavaScript and React, especially for Block Editor / Gutenberg development.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers and enhance codebase quality through effective code reviews and pairing.
• Experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (PHPUnit, E2E), and maintaining quality standards.
• Confidence in working directly with clients, clearly articulating technical decisions and constraints to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working across the full technology stack without a strong preference for client-side or server-side development.
• Proficient in English at a professional working level.
• Availability to work in a timezone compatible with Central European hours (CET/CEST, or at least 4–5 hours of sustainable daily overlap).
