Senior WordPress Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Albania.

📋 Description

• Analyze project requirements and collaborate to identify and determine the most effective implementation strategies in WordPress.

• Develop and integrate custom themes and functionalities by extending WordPress, which includes creating custom fields, custom post types, taxonomies, and widgets, along with building custom modules primarily in vanilla PHP and other core web technologies as needed.

• Implement e-commerce functionalities, focusing on WooCommerce through configuration, extension, and customization efforts.

• Integrate third-party libraries and frameworks for complex projects, and collaborate with external web services via APIs as necessary.

• Contribute to front-end development by executing portions of the UI/UX design elements and effectively integrating the front-end and back-end components of the software.

• Optimize the code and the final product, emphasizing performance by implementing best practices and WordPress-specific enhancements.

• Support the optimization of various aspects of the final product, including cross-responsiveness, security, SEO, and more.

• Aid in the overall management and operation of the optimized WordPress setup, including configuration, monitoring, maintenance, updates, training, troubleshooting, and resolving issues for clients and co-workers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge and skills in both front-end and back-end fundamental web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL.

• Strong PHP programming skills are essential.

• In-depth understanding of WordPress as a platform, with significant experience in WordPress development is required.

• Proven experience in creating custom WordPress themes, structures, and modules, along with advanced configuration and optimization skills.

• Familiarity with e-commerce development, particularly with WooCommerce.

• Dedication to writing efficient code that complies with WP coding standards, with the capability to navigate official developer resources for solutions to coding challenges as needed.

• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, the latest JS versions, AJAX implementation, and MySQL.

• Some experience with common front-end libraries and frameworks, such as Bootstrap and jQuery, as well as server-side frameworks and libraries.

• Familiarity with tools like reputable WP starter themes (e.g., underscores.me) and frameworks (like Genesis) is advantageous.

• Working experience with version control and code management tools, specifically Git and Git-based systems.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional development experience is required.
