Senior WordPress Developer, AI-focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design and implement comprehensive full-stack WordPress solutions, incorporating WooCommerce and custom plugin development.

• Integrate features powered by AI, such as chatbots, content automation, personalization engines, smart search, and recommendation systems.

• Convert design mockups into clean, responsive front-end code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Enhance site performance, security, and scalability.

• Work collaboratively across teams utilizing Git, while ensuring the maintenance of clear technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in WordPress development, including theme/plugin customization, REST API, and WooCommerce.

• Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and MySQL.

• Possess a full-stack mindset, comfortable working from database to user interface.

• In-depth knowledge of WordPress Codex standards and best practices.

• Significant experience with ACF/ACF Pro for structured content modeling.

• Familiarity with SCSS and BEM methodology for creating maintainable and scalable front-end code.

• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.).

• Background in using the Roots.io ecosystem (Sage, Bedrock, Trellis) or similar structured WordPress frameworks.

• Experience with headless WordPress or modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Vue).

• Understanding of managed WordPress hosting solutions (WP Engine, Kinsta, or similar), including staging workflows and deployment pipelines.
