Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee, maintain, and provide support for Microsoft Windows Server environments.

• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, IIS, RDS, Certificate Services, and Windows Failover Clustering.

• Manage and support enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM.

• Provide support for Azure infrastructure services.

• Create and maintain PowerShell automation solutions.

• Assist in standardizing infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency.

• Engage in infrastructure projects, migrations, technology refresh initiatives, and cloud adoption efforts.

• Generate and sustain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support knowledge bases.

• Participate in service improvement activities.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, developers, and clients to design, implement, and support resilient infrastructure solutions across both on-premise and cloud environments.

• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of critical business infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in supporting enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, and 2022).

• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, DHCP, Windows Failover Clustering, and Microsoft Certificate Services.

• Strong expertise in PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.

• Experience in administering VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM environments.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities.

• Experience supporting business-critical production infrastructure within ITIL-based service management frameworks.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft Defender technologies, and security monitoring solutions is preferred.

• Knowledge of Intune, MECM/SCCM, WSUS, Azure DevOps, Git, Ansible, or Microsoft Sentinel is preferred.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.

• Required to participate in a 24x7 on-call rota and provide occasional out-of-hours support for planned maintenance and critical incidents.
