This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Create and implement high-performance networking functionalities for enterprise-level appliances.
• Engage with open-source data plane / fast path frameworks (VPP, DPDK).
• Spearhead technical projects and guide team members.
• Manage features from inception to completion, delivering autonomously and at scale.
• Collaborate across various functions and encourage knowledge exchange.
• Effectively communicate architectural decisions and design trade-offs, including to senior stakeholders.
• Handle competing priorities with a sense of urgency, responsibility, and strong ownership.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in developing enterprise-grade appliances or comparable systems.
• More than 3 years of experience delivering complex features independently.
• Proficient in embedded software development using C/C++ (Python knowledge is a plus).
• In-depth expertise in VPP, DPDK, or similar open-source data plane / fast path frameworks.
• Solid understanding of DPDK-based traffic generators (e.g., TRex) — development experience is highly valued.
• Strong grasp of L2–L4 networking and associated protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, Firewall).
• Experience with security protocols (IPsec, SSL/TLS), as well as authentication and authorization techniques.
• Practical experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with overlay and tunneling technologies.
• Excellent software engineering principles and practices for clean coding.
• Experience with Docker, with a strong preference for familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in collaborative, startup-like settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Nice to have: Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and Alibaba Cloud.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge in distributed computing and microservices.
