Senior Virtualization Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage virtualized environments utilizing platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM.

• Oversee server consolidation, clustering, and resource optimization to guarantee performance and scalability.

• Integrate virtualization platforms with storage, networking, and backup solutions.

• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues.

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts within virtual environments.

• Implement and uphold security best practices for virtual machines, hypervisors, and management consoles.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to enhance automation and improve deployment efficiency.

• Provide technical assistance to customers and reseller partners regarding virtualization design and troubleshooting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in virtualization engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure operations.

• Practical knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or other enterprise-level virtualization platforms.

• Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN/NAS), networking, and backup solutions.

• Strong grasp of datacenter operations, cloud integration, and automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible).

• Understanding of security controls and compliance frameworks within virtualized environments.

• Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Server+ are advantageous.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
