Senior Video Producer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create and edit high-concept, full-length video podcast episodes along with long-form YouTube content.

• Craft visual narratives to enhance audience engagement and retention.

• Work in collaboration with video editors to fine-tune the visual approach.

• Generate and edit original short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

• Keep abreast of platform trends, audience behaviors, and new emerging formats.

• Act as a primary creative voice regarding video style, pacing, tone, and overall execution.

• Establish and uphold visual standards across various shows and social video edits.

• Partner with the Director of Video & Podcasts to innovate formats, series identity, and creative strategies.

• Assist in identifying opportunities for audience growth, retention, and expansion across YouTube and social media channels.

• Examine performance trends and audience behaviors to guide creative choices.

• Collaborate with the Director of Video & Podcasts on the overall creative and editorial strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in video production and editing, ideally within news or digital media.

• Demonstrated expertise in editing and producing long-form and YouTube-first content.

• Strong storytelling skills with an emphasis on pacing, structure, and audience retention.

• In-depth knowledge of best practices for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere and After Effects), Descript, and related software.

• Experience in providing creative feedback or informal mentorship to fellow editors.

• Flexibility to work irregular hours during significant political events and breaking news cycles.
