This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Establish the Organizational Vision and Strategy for Talent & Operations.
• Foster a performance-driven culture through effective talent systems and initiatives for growth and development across KF; ensure that these systems successfully attract, develop, and retain high-performing, mission-aligned personnel.
• Track organizational health metrics (e.g., employee engagement, skill enhancement, process adoption, regional leader satisfaction, etc.) and facilitate improvements based on data insights and feedback.
• Act as a thought partner to the COO and Leadership Team regarding organizational effectiveness, capacity, and long-term sustainability.
• Uphold the KIPP Foundation culture to guarantee that high-quality talent is recruited, retained, and flourishes to support KIPP regions and students; define the vision for and lead the KF cultural moments (such as All Staff calls, convenings, communications, etc.).
• Oversee KF Ops initiatives through two Senior Directors, including governance of the 2030 plan, annual planning, and the design and implementation of KF and Network processes (network feedback loop, KIPP Pulse, contact management, etc.).
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members to ensure that leaders articulate a clear vision for their areas of responsibility and that teams achieve their objectives.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability, learning, and ongoing improvement within the Talent and Operations teams.
• Collaborate closely with Executive Team leaders to ensure all teams embody and work towards the vision for a thriving KIPP Foundation.
• Ensure alignment and effective coordination across KF Talent, KF Ops, and Event Operations workstreams in pursuit of Foundation-wide objectives.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex or high-risk personnel matters.
• Identify systemic people risks or trends across teams (such as capacity strain, role clarity, leadership gaps) and proactively address them through adjustments to organizational or talent strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Over 12 years of experience in leadership roles within a complex organization, with a minimum of 10 years in Talent and/or Operations functions; at least 5 years must be in overseeing Talent functions.
• The ideal candidate should possess talent and operations experience in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
• Demonstrated success in supervising multiple functions and senior leaders within a matrixed environment.
• Significant experience functioning as a senior partner to executive leadership.
