Senior VFX Artist – Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Develop impactful and refined gameplay VFX for heroes, bosses, abilities, combat interactions, and gameplay feedback systems.

• Design and execute high-impact effects for reward moments, progression systems, hero unlocks/upgrades, store interactions, and notifications.

• Work directly within Unity to implement effects, collaborate with developers, and assist in enhancing VFX workflows and pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with Art Direction to help advance the game’s VFX style and overall visual quality.

• Contribute to the ongoing visual progression of the game across gameplay, UI/UX, and presentation polish.

• Create effects that enhance gameplay readability, impact, pacing, responsiveness, and overall player immersion.

• Actively participate in collaborative reviews and iteration cycles to consistently elevate the quality standard across the project.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience in creating and implementing real-time VFX directly within Unity.

• Excellent grasp of animation fundamentals, including timing, anticipation, readability, impact, rhythm, and feedback.

• Experience in shipping or significantly contributing to mobile games.

• A portfolio that showcases polished gameplay VFX with high visual clarity and game feel.

• Experience in collaborative work with developers, designers, and artists in fast-paced production settings.

• A proactive attitude with a high sense of ownership and keen attention to detail.

• Comfort in both receiving and providing feedback in highly iterative creative environments.

• Nice to have:

• Experience with Spine.

• 3D skills in Blender or similar software.

• Knowledge of mesh-based or technical VFX workflows.

• Experience in improving pipelines or exploring new VFX workflows within Unity.

• Experience working on RPG, action, or hero-based games.
