Senior UX Researcher – Short-Term Contract, 1099

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Organize and facilitate discovery research across various user groups, including agency personnel and external users.

• Execute field research, contextual inquiries, and observational sessions, moving beyond just surveys.

• Assist in creating service blueprints and process maps that illustrate workflows across different actors, systems, and handoffs.

• Compile findings into comprehensive research reports, personas, and requirements that withstand scrutiny.

• Confirm findings with participants prior to final delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in discovery research on intricate, multi-stakeholder systems, demonstrated through work samples or case studies. Usability testing alone does not meet the criteria.

• Proficiency in field and observational research techniques, rather than relying solely on remote interviews.

• Proven experience in producing service blueprints, journey maps, or process flows.

• A track record of transforming raw research into actionable decisions for executive and technical teams.

• Experience with government, regulatory, or permitting research is advantageous, as is knowledge of rules-based processes.
