Senior Underwriter, AVP Underwriter – Wholesale Excess Casualty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the creation of a successful portfolio in the middle to large market-sized E&S Excess Casualty sector, focusing on General Liability and Commercial Automobile lines.

• Support the execution of a growth strategy for the region while enhancing brand visibility for Everest.

• Underwrite a selection of new and renewal accounts, adhering to departmental standards.

• Follow underwriting guidelines and referral processes diligently.

• Develop and oversee a varied and profitable business portfolio.

• Foster strong relationships with appointed wholesale brokers.

• Formulate and manage pricing and risk selection criteria that align with strategic objectives and financial goals.

• Collaborate effectively with teams in Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and IT.

• Keep abreast of competitors' strategies and the broader landscape of the insurance market.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or a related discipline (insurance designations are advantageous).

• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in wholesale casualty underwriting.

• Proficient knowledge in General Liability and Commercial Automobile sectors.

• A self-driven and independent work style while adhering to underwriting discipline.

• Strong skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and presentation.

• Exceptional abilities in relationship-building and coaching.

• A sharp ability to evaluate risk-related exposures and natural hazards.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
